According to the PMBOK an activity list is "a documented tabulation of schedule activities that shows the activity description, activity identifier, and a sufficiently detailed scope of work description so project team members understand what work is to be performed."

The activity list and the related activity attributes are created by (outputs from) the define activities process, and both are inputs to the sequence activities, estimate activity durations, develop schedule, and estimate activity resources processes.

The activity list may begin with the basics: the activity name, ID, and associated WBS. Over time, other attributes such as predecessor activities and leads and lags can be added. ‎
