Change control tools are manual or automated tools to support project stakeholders in the management of change requests and the decisions made regarding them. These tools are part of the PMI process to perform integrated change control where the decision about the change is made. The appropriate tools depend on the environment and organization's norms. The tools can support the change control board by informing them about change requests that are up for consideration, notifying the appropriate subject matter experts to provide input, and communicating the decisions to the rest of the project team.
