Control scope is the process of checking the scope of the project and requesting appropriate changes to the scope baseline when necessary. This process is in the scope management knowledge area and the monitoring and controlling process group of the PMI processes.

According to the PMBOK, this activity has the following characteristics:

Control scope is defined in section 5.6 of the PMBOK (5th ed.).

The input of the project management plan includes the baselines, one of which is the scope baseline.

If there are change requests, use the perform integrated change control process to follow-up.
