SystemFlowchart v02

Flowcharts are one of the seven basic quality tools. Rules for flowcharts vary between different domains and organizations. In general, there are nodes (usually boxes) for activities with arrows between them showing the flow. At some points there will be a decision point (usually a diamond) with two choices (yes and no) on the arrows coming from the choice. Depending on the answer, the next step in the flow is chosen. Flowcharts usually have only one starting point at the top of the page, but may have more than one end. The flow usually goes down with occasional loops back up in response to a decision point. Variations may involve decision points with more than one choice, different shapes, and flow directions.
