Perform integrated change control is the PMI process that handles change requests -- approving or denying them, tracking them in the change log, and updating other project documentation to reflect any approved changes.

Change management may overlap with change control, but in general change control refers to changes to the project, such as scope changes, and change management techniques usually deal with organizational changes.

According to the PMBOK, this activity has the following characteristics:
