A projectized organizational structure is one where the reporting structure is primarily organized by projects. The project manager has management responsibilities and authority in the organization. These roles and responsibilities include control over resource availability or assignments, the project budget, and administrative staff. In a projectized structure, the project manager position is usually a full-time role.

Other organizational structures are functional, weak matrix, balanced matrix, or strong matrix. An organization may use different structures in various parts.
