A request for quote (RFQ) is one kind of solicitation for seller proposals. It is similar to a request for proposal or request for information. (Sometimes these terms are used interchangeably.) As the name indicates, the RFQ usually focusses on the price or rate the seller will commit to charging. This may include specifications, volume discounts, and/or a time table.
