Human resource management is a critical component of project management. It is one of the ten PMI knowledge areas. There are four PMI processes in this knowledge area.
Note: In version 6 of the PMBOK, this knowledge area was renamed to Resource Management. In previous versions, it was called "human resource management".

The human resource management plan is created in the planning phase as an output of the plan human resource management process. This plan will guide the acquisition, development and ongoing management of the project team.
